Ans:-The author's opinion is that Mr Gessler is an excellent boot-maker. He does not compromise with the quality of his boots. He makes boots on the basis of the given orders. He does not want to advertise his products. His boots lasts long because of their high qualities.
2. Why did the author visit the shop so infrequently?
Ans:-The author visited the shop infrequently because of the strong boots made by Mr Gessler. His boots were strong enough to use for a long time.
3. What was the effect on Mr Gessler of the author's remarks about a certain pair of boots.
Ans:-When the author informed Mr Gessler about the creaked boots he did not believe. Later he said if he could not do anything with them, he would take them off his bill.
4. What was Mr Gessler's complaint about " big firms"?
Ans:-Mr Gessler's complaint about Big Firms is that they don't take care of the quality of boots. They advertize their products so that they can supply the orders at the earliest.

Ans:-I don't think Mr Gessler was a failure as a boot-maker. He was failure as a competitive businessman. He was an excellent boot-maker. His boots never failed to fit. Quality of his boots was appreciable. But he did not use the tricks of business. He did not advertise his products but he paid more attention to the quality of the products.
2.What is the significance of the title? To whom or to what does it refer?
Ans:-The title of the text is "Quality". The title is very significant because quality is appreciated by the customer. It is quality that gives proper identification of the maker or the producer. Everything revolves round the quality. Here it refers to Mr Gessler and his boots. Both Mr Gessler and his boots have quality.
