1. In what way is Pambupatti different from any other village?
Ans:- Pambupatti is different from  other villages because the people of the village live together very peacefully. They have created harmonious situation in the village. There is no distinction between cast and creed. They spend a peaceful life and they are very co-operative.
2. Why is Prem determined not to return to his village?
Ans:- Prem has experienced the consequences of fights. He has seen the houses set on fire. People are gone mad . One has become enemy of another. So he left the village. His has got a very peaceful dwelling. Now he wants to spend his life peacefully. This is why Prem is determined not to return to his village
3. Why did Makara dislike tortoises, snakes and lizards? Write a line about each.
Ans:-Makara disliked tortoises by saying that they are slow and stupid. Snakes were disliked because they were slimy and they produced funny noises. The lizards had a peculiar quality of changing their colors whenever they needed to do so.
4. What went wrong when the tortoises, snakes and lizards left the forest?
Ans:- There went a great wrong when the tortoises, snakes and lizards left the forest. The stinking smell of rotten fruits and fishes created unbearable situation for the forest dwellers. Rats increased by leaps and bounds and countless insects started flying in the forest.
5. Why do you think Prem wants to tell a story of the reptiles to the people of his village?
Ans:- Prem is a peaceful person. He does not want the villagers to fight among one another for the sake of religion. He wants all the people to stay together harmoniously. So he wants to tell a story of the reptile to the people of his village.
6. Do you agree that it is difficult not to go along with someone who is very strong and powerful? Express your views frankly and clearly.
Ans:- Yes, I agree that most of the people are lover of peace so they don’t actually want to take any risk by going against someone who is very strong and powerful. If one goes against them he may be tortured severely then and there in any way. So it is not possible for everybody to do so.
7. If you were a baby crocodile, would you tell Makara that he was wrong? What would you say to convince him?

Ans:- If I were a baby crocodile I would have told Makara that all the creatures on this planet( earth) have reciprocal relationship. The earth is for those who live on the earth. So all the creatures have equal rights to make the planet beautiful and worth-living.
