Ans:-Taro was very thirsty. He heard a rushing stream hidden behind a rock. So he ran in the direction of the stream to quench his thirst.
2. How did Taro's father show happiness after drinking sake'?
Ans:- Taro's father started dancing having drunk sake’. He did not drink it for a long time. He showed happiness by doing a little dance in the middle of the floor just after drinking sake'.

Ans:-Taro wanted to purchase sake' for his old father so that he could get rid of cold. He started working harder than before. 4. Why did the villagers want to drown Taro?
Ans:-The villagers went to the waterfall to fetch sake' but they found only water. They got angry at Taro, thinking that he had tricked them. They wanted to take revenge for their insult and humiliation. That was why the villagers wanted Taro to be drowned in the very same waterfall.
5. Why did the Emperor reward Taro?
Ans:- The Emperor rewarded Taro because he was a kind man. He had always been very sincere views towards his old parents. The Emperor wanted to give a message through the reward that every child should respect, obey and serve his/her parents.
