1Why did Bepin Babu worry about what Parimal Ghosh had said?
Ans:-Parimal Ghosh conveyed to Bepin Babu so many facts related to his family and his personal life. Bepin Babu thought that the person knew everything in detail about his family and his personal life so, cannot tell a lie. He started thinking about his Ranchi trip which he had never undertaken. He was worried about the statement of Parimal Ghosh thinking if he had a lapse of memory.
2. How did he try to decide who was right – his memory or Parimal Ghosh?
Ans:-A great confusion was created in the mind of Bepin Babu about the Ranchi trip. He wanted Mukherji to clear the matter. Parimal Ghosh had said that the then Mukherji had also been in Ranchi at the very same time. Bepin Babu remembered the friend at Kanpur and tried to verify. This is how he tried to decide who was right, his memory or Parimal Ghosh.
3. Why did Bepin Babu hesitate to visit Mr. Mukerji? Why did he finally decide to phone him?
Ans:-Bepin Babu did not want to face embarrassment if it was proved wrong by Dinesh Mukherji. So he decided to phone him.

Ans:-Mr Mukherji told about the Ranchi trip truly undertaken by Bepin Babu. It did not comfort Bepin Babu but added to his worries.

Ans:-Chunilal was an old acquaintance of Bepin Babu since his school days. He wanted Bepin Babu to help him get a good job so that he could overcome his financial stresses.
2. Why was Dr. Chanda puzzled? What was unusual about Bepin Babu’s loss of memory?
Ans:-Dr Chanda was puzzled because the case of Bepin Babu was quite peculiar to the doctor. He never dealt with a case like that. Bepin Babu was trying to get confirmation about his Ranchi trip. This abnormal situation was found in a normal patient.

Ans:-Chunilal wanted to play a trick on Bepin Babu. He wanted to initiate his talking by saying that he was running out of money. That is why he said what he had was his wit. When Bepin Babu started asking about his Ranchi trip, Chunilal added to his worries.

Ans:-The evidence I found in the story to support this, is "After lunch-time, Bepin Babu realized that he couldn't possibly carry on sitting at his desk and working. This had never happened in the twenty-five years he had been with the firm. He had a reputation for being a tireless, conscientious worker. But today his head was in a whirl."
2. Why did Bepin Babu change his mind about meeting Chunilal? What was the result of this meeting?
Ans:-Bepin Babu did not want to meet Chunilal because he was not the then able to help him. But later he thought that Chunilal could help him know the reality about the trip to Ranchi. So he decided to meet him then and there. When he met Chunilal he got more detailed information about his trip to Ranchi.
3. Bepin Babu lost consciousness at Hudroo falls. What do you think was the reason for this?
Ans:-Bepin Babu was told that he slipped and got injured in his knee at Hudroo Falls. This unbearable shock might be the reason for his lost consciousness at Hudroo Falls.
4. How do you think Bepin babu reacted when he found out that Chunilal had tricked him?
Ans:-I think Bepin Babu would have been happy thinking that he had not lost his memory. He would have been thinking that he must have close contact with the people who are their dear and near.
